BLONDELLE EVENING GOWN
As a project for my Special Topics in Knitwear course, I was required to drape a knit ensemble. I had some leftover fabric from my Astaire Dress and wanted to utilize it.
MY PROCESS
01
CREATING A MOOD BOARD
I was inspired by the intricacies of elegant mirrors. I was curious if I could replicate the details in pleats and stretches within the elegant velour.

After two rounds of sketching, I settled to focus my details into pleats.
FINAL PRODUCT

TAKEAWAYS
Through this project, I learned how important it is to experiment with appliques before starting the final garment. The faux pleats consumed half of the fabric, and my draping before sewing, I could map out the shapes of my garment better.
