IRIS VAN HERPEN-INSPIRED COLLECTION: MEDUSA
For my Technical Illustration class, I was tasked with choosing a designer and drawing a 5-piece collection, both by hand and by using Illustrator. After conducting some research on Iris Van Herpen, I felt inspired by her multi-media ensembles and decided to empower women, just as she does, by creating a collection revolving around Medusa.
MY PROCESS

02
CREATING A TREND BOARD
Reflecting my mood board and Medusa herself, I wanted scale mail to be a prominent staple in my collection. As a contrasting element and reference to Iris Van Herpen's style, I wanted organza to be another large trend in my collection.
03
CREATING AN INSPIRATION BOARD
When researching Iris Van Herpen's style, I created an inpiration board to sollidify my point of inpiration. I was sure to incorporate her malleable 3D printed artwork and free-flowing organza into my work.

04
CONCEPT SKETCHING
I drew 20 sketches to flesh out different aspects of Medusa's evolution for my collection.
