"MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM" BALLET
Based on the Shakespeare story of the same name, the "Midsummer Night's Dream" ballet tells the story of two couples that run away into a forest. This forest is filled with magical fairies, including queen Titania and the mischievous trickster Puck. Although the couples are on a romantic getaway, Puck casts spells that causes two men to fall in love with the same girl and Titania has to deal with the aftermath.
MY PROCESS
Titania, queen of the faries, is strong, elegant, and powerful. Her choreography in the ballet is very airy and gentle, reflecting the elegant qualities of her personality.
Puck is a mischevious sprite whose silly pranks cause upheval within the forest. His choreography in the ballet includes a lot of jumps and legwork, his energetic bounciness reflecting the childish parts of his personality.
