KNITWEAR SWIMDRESS
As a project for my Special Topics in Knitwear course, I was required to pattern a knit ensemble. Given that it is difficult for me to find bathing suits that fit me, I decided to design one suitable for myself.
MY PROCESS
01
CREATING A MOOD BOARD
My goal for the swim dress was to make something that could pass as a normal summer dress, while also being suitable for the water.

02
SKETCHING AND PLANNING
After three rounds of sketching, I settled for a halter dress.

TAKEAWAYS
Through this project, I learned how important it is to use personal measurements for a garment. This swimsuit fit extremely well, so much that my mock-up was good enough to exist as a final garment. By using specific measurements, it cut a lot of lengthy trial and error out of my creation process.
