COSTUME DESIGN
Between my eight years of dance training and my excitement for Halloween every year, I was always ecstatic to put together costumes. I loved being able to bring a concept or character to life, wearing a new aesthetic every time. Since Halloween isn't year-round, I needed to explore costuming elsewhere, eventually turning to dance and film to dress characters.
For Halloween 2024, I wanted to lean into a scary character since I've done cutesy costumes in years past. I dressed as my own interpretation of Art the Clown from the "Terrifier" movies.
For my senior capstone, I was inspired by the film "Howl's Moving Castle" and challenged myself to tell the story of a princess descending into villainy through costume.
UMBC seniors Lucas Sanchez and Sean DiGiorgio create their long-time horror passion project, enlisting me to design costumes after seeing my work in "Bulwark".
A Traveling Players production starring middle schoolers recounts Moliere's critique of class vs love while giving it an 80's . Henriette wants to pursue love while her family wants her to marry rich, how will her love triangle end?
A Traveling Players original play starring elementary schoolers explores the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The lovers' relationship is challenged through the ends of the Earth and back.
As an honors contract, I redesigned Other Mother's costume from "Coraline". My goal was to create a wearable transformation suitable for a live action film.
Stevenson University senior Brendan Hylton tells a story of outlaws coming together to face their trauma. I had a total of $3000 to source costumes, props, and set dressings.
Stevenson University senior, Lee Render, wrote a short film about a botanist who becomes so engrossed in their work that they become a flower.
Stevenson University senior Devin Maldonado tells a horror romance about a couple enduring hardships and zombies simultaneously. With a low budget, I was to source costumes from actors.
Stevenson University graduate Zach Garrigus of City Mist Productions, created his senior capstone, "The Search for Alexander", telling the story of a man with no recollection of who he is or how he came to be. He brought me on board as Costume Desiger, allotting me a budget of $3,000.
Stevenson University graduate Treasure McCorkle created her senior capstone, "Demise", telling the story of a father and daughter who struggle to keep their family together after the death of their mother/wife. She brought me on board as Costume Designer, allotting me a budget of $450.
Stevenson University graduate Zach Garrigus of City Mist Productions, created a film using a university-awarded grant, "The Outsider". He adapted H.P. Lovecraft's story of the same name. He brought me on board as Costume Designer, allotting me a budget of $250.
