THE DIRECTOR'S MOOD BOARD

The Outsider is a young man who has spent as much of his life as he can remember in a small stone room with no visible doors or windows, clad only in a pair of threadbare trousers.

The Outsider's pants aren't specific to a certain time period or style since he is locked away from the world, oblivious to the world’s sense of style.

I used various dying and distressing techniques to emphasize the age of The Outsider's clothes.

TAKEAWAYS

Through this project, I learned the importance of weathering and distressing costumes. While the pants were fitting for The Outsider, they didn't convey his attachment to them in their new state. Learning various distressing techniques were also useful in embellishing garments to suit each individual character I'm dressing.
