Through this project, I learned the how to adapt my plan to to the materials I'm given. Since the dress started plan and had no sleeves, I had to analyze the costume to understand how I would attach everything onto this knit garment. I also had to put myself in the mind of the dancer, steering away from putting flowers under the arms as I knew their wide range of arm movements would cause skin irritation if I put embellishments too high on the side. Even though my director suggested appliques, I had to research and discuss alternatives because I learned they would hinder the stretch and give the costume provides for the dancer.
